This letter is for those who want to use the greatest and dangerous tool of all time in a way pleasing to Allah.
Social media.
Share 1 post and 10,000 people might see it.
Share 1 post conveying the teachings of the Prophet ﷺ and you could accumulate 10,000 rewards multiplied by Allah’s generosity.
Share 1 post playing degenerate rap music or compromising your modesty and you might accumulate 10,000 sins.
..He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And ever is Allāh Forgiving and Merciful.
48:14
May Allah forgive us for any shortcomings.
Social media is an amplifier.
Use it for good and you spread benefit.
Use it carelessly and you risk harm to yourself and others.
How many youth have passed away with their families begging for their accounts to be deleted because of what they shared?
As a Muslim creator, you face unique struggles:
choose deen over viral music trands
struggle to earn a halal income online
modesty in an attention driven-space
criticism for staying authentic to islamic values
I’ve been through it all.
Yet, by the will of Allah, we grew to over 1M+ followers across my brands without compromising my faith or using haram tactics.
Doing this allowed me to leave the 9-5 and opened up a side of life I never thought possible.
Alhamdulillah alhamdulillah alhamdulillah.
I cannot thank Allah enough for this blessing.
This letter is what I wish I had when I started with zero followers.
Your Worth Is Not Measured In Numbers
Numbers are deceptive.
Prophet Nuh عليه السلام preached for 950 years and only had 80 followers.
The Prophet ﷺ won the battle of Badr with 300 men against 1,000 men.
Aisha رضي الله عنها left an unmatched legacy of knowledge yet had 0 children.
Your worth isn't measured by social media metrics.
Numbers mean nothing if the intentions and effort behind them are lacking.
Allah does not look at your appearance or your wealth, but He looks at your hearts and your deeds
Muslim
Remember what happened with Prophet Yunus (Jonah) عليه السلام?
Prophet Yunus ع felt disheartened by his people rejecting his message so he left them.
His focus shifted to the outcome instead of the effort.
Allah tested him:
The storm
The ship
The big fish
In complete darkness in the belly of the fish, he submitted to Allah:
And [mention] the man of the fish [i.e., Jonah], when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses
There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers
21:87
Allah then saved him, and when he returned, his people had embraced the message [Tafsir ibn Kathir]
The lesson?
Your job is to deliver the message with sincerity. Results are in Allah’s hands.
You have no control over your numbers.
The 6-Step Barakah Creator Framework
Here is what I wish I knew when I first started:
1) Focus on pleasing Allah. Not the creation.
Validation is a powerful drug.
It feels good when people praise you, like your posts, and share your work.
It’s natural to want it.
But the pursuit of validation can make you a slave to trends and often leads to compromising your values.
You see it everywhere:
Hijabis posting Halloween makeup tutorials
Men & women dancing for likes
Reels with degenerate audio pushed by algos
Stop chasing the algorithm. Stop chasing the validation of the people.
..but approval from Allāh is greater. It is that which is the great attainment. 9:72
Allah’s approval is worth more than 1 million likes.
If you want true freedom, let go of the need for approval from anyone but Allah.
When your focus is on Allah, barakah takes care of the rest.
Before you post, ask yourself:
Would I feel comfortable if only Allah saw this?
Is this content encouraging sin or benefiting others?
Am I prioritizing truth over trends?
This simple reflection can filter out 95% of bad content.
When your intention is pure, your work gains barakah.
Barakah is when Allāh puts infinite potential into something finite.
Saufiyah
Barakah is better than virality.
2) Create a schedule around prayer.
School is time consuming.
Work is time consuming.
Taking care of kids is time consuming.
Content creation is time consuming.
If you don’t have a good routine, you will feel overwhelmed.
Create systems that reduce decision fatigue.
Thats why billionaires have such simple outfits. They don’t want to think about what to wear. It takes up mental energy.
Salah is your uniform for time management. By building your day around prayer, you reduce chaos and create mental clarity.
You are not tied to a specific time and actually have some flexibility unlike other routines.
Creative work at ‘Asr.
I have the freedom to do that at 3PM or 4PM. But now I know generally what I should be doing when that time comes.
To start: I would write out the whole day with timings. Then schedule in prayer times. Then scribble in whatever your life demands of you around those times.
Fix your prayers and your life will fall into place.
The discipline of prayer will give you structure and barakah to your time.
As time is our most valuable asset.
Allah swears by it:
By time, Indeed, mankind is in loss, Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience. 103-1-3
This is what I do:
Fajr: Gratitude, qur'ān, focused work, breakfast.
Dhuhr: Re-energize & rest, workout, lunch.
Asr: Learning, meetings, creative work.
Maghrib: Dhikr, dinner, family time.
Isha: Journal & reflection, du'ās, sleep.
Time is life itself and wasting time is wasting life.
Start by fixing your evening routine. It sets the tone for the next day.
Then build a morning routine that fuels your creativity and focus.
3) Stay consistent.
Consistency compounds.
Post imperfectly. Write daily even when it feels insignificant.
Play long-term games with long-term people.
Naval
Updating your profile pic or bio is a win.
Doing content research for 5-10m is a win.
Engaging with other accounts or posting on stories is a win.
Many creators get discouraged when they don’t see instant results. But success isn’t about speed; it’s about sustainability. Small, consistent efforts compound over time.
One day you’re at 0.
The next day you’re at 100k.
Consistency builds trust with your audience and opens unseen opportunities.
One day I was posting “little” infographics on Eternah to a 30 people audience.
The next day I’m shipping out thousands of books all because of those infographics.
All praises to the Most High.
You won’t see the fruits of your work today. But one day you will.
And it will hit you all at once.
4) Stay firm. Your audience will respect your values.
..so glad tidings to the strangers.
Sunan Ibn Majah
Modern culture reward conformity.
Islam rewards steadfastness.
Islam began as something strange and will return to something strange as the Prophet ﷺ foretold.
Oh, how true is that now!
Authenticity is magnetic.
Your vibe attracts your tribe.
Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام stood alone against his entire community.
His unwavering principles earned him the title of خليل الله (the close friend of Allah).
Stand firm in your principles. When you create content that reflects who you are, you attract the right audience — one that respects your mission and values. Don’t bend to trends that compromise your faith.
The market respects authenticity.
The more you stay true to yourself, the more you stand out in a sea of conformity.
Everyone is a sheep nowadays.
Be willing to be a stranger in a world of dark trends.
5) Value > visuals. Let your work speak for itself.
Showing your pretty face, ripped body, or luscious hair might catch attention.
But its meaningful ideas create lasting impact.
A beautiful post with no value fades quickly.
A meaningful post will be shared for generations.
Start simple. Share ideas that solve real problems, even if they lack perfect visuals.
People remember how your content made them think, not just how it looked.
People remember how your content made them feel, not just how it looked.
Think of a book with a plain cover but life-changing content. Now think of a beautifully designed book with no substance. Which one will you remember?
This is not to say, aesthetics don’t matter. They do matter to a degree.
But it is ideas that will help you first. Then comes the designs.
I’ve been writing on Threads since March 2024 and now I’m at 61k followers.
That’s 8 months.
Don’t think you have to show your face to grow an account.
My brands @saufiyvh and @eternah are real-life proof of that.
Simplicity scales.
Strip away the fluff, focus on substance, and let your ideas do the heavy lifting. Then refine the style as you grow.
Ideas are the currency of the future.
6) Prioritize barakah over numbers and impact over metrics.
You are not entitled to results.
You are entitled to the process.
Saufiyah
Many people lose focus or start to compare to other creators who seem to “grow faster.”
Stop obsessing over follower counts or engagement metrics.
It will only drain you.
Don’t look at it.
Instead of chasing numbers:
Focus on the ripple effect of your work. One life changed is a victory.
Build with depth and sincerity. Numbers may fade, but impact lasts.
Create for depth, not width.
Whoever guides someone to goodness will have a reward like one who did it
Muslim
One meaningful connection is worth more than 1,000 empty likes.
Trust the process, leave the results to Allah, and you’ll find growth in ways you never imagined.
Success as a Muslim creator isn’t in the numbers.
It’s in the sincerity, effort, and barakah behind your work.
Use social media as a tool for impact, not a trap for validation.
Think long-term.
Our religion is all about long-term.
Jannah is long-term thinking.
The pleasure of Allah is long-term thinking.
Knowing you will be held accountable for all your actions on a Day when no soul will suffice another is long-term thinking.
Build for Allah, and your work will outlive you — both in this world and the next.
I will leave you with this ayah:
So be patient. Indeed, the promise of Allāh is truth..
30:60
May Allah guide us to create with purpose and sincerity.
And as always:
مع حبي (with love)
